Here’s the excerpt from the SXSW page for the 2009 festival:
….Also new was the founding of an international netroots organization for those not attending, dubbed NotAtSXSW. Coordinating though Twitter and other online tools, notatsxsw events were held in London, New York, Wisconsin, Portland, Oregon and Miami.[12] According to the Los Angeles Times, some Twitter users are only pretending to be at the 2009 festival.[13]
Thanks to Steve Wailing, who added notatsxsw last night. Steve is an editor at AboutUs, a wiki guide for companies, organizations, blogs and really just about ant web presence out there.

Thank You, Ruth
A unicorn #notatsxsw delivered some really good news this morning. Ruth Jamieson wrote a super sweet post about our fun in The Guardian. Wow, Ruth, thanks for sending the unicorn to deliver the good news. I’ve never had a unicorn bring me such a nice gift.
Sweet, I might add, because Ruth, is, like, the founder of The Cake Club. They make cakes and meet every Monday to gorge on the goodness of their homemade creations.
Geez. I kind of feel like a band of unicorns are galloping by #notatsxsw.
So dreamy.

Our friend and #notatsxsw correspondent @tsand presented a unique picture of the SXSWi events in Austin this year. We’re delighted to be able to share them with you. Judging from the shots, @tsand had an absolutely spectacular time at SXSW ‘09 and it could be said that he saw the sights,
